How to get a licence for
Recorded media product

Licence managed by :

Répertoire des œuvres - La Sacem

A rich repertoire of works

SACEM gives you access to its repertoire of 90 million French and foreign musical works.

Consulting our repertoire

This licence concerns several repertoires. SACEM and SDRM simplify the procedure with a single contract.

  • The works you use were created by authors and composers and are protected by law.
  • You must get licences from authors’ societies to use them.
  • With this single contract, you pay the royalties which are then distributed among the creators and publishers, to remunerate their work. Paying royalties entitles you to use these works in full respect of copyright/authors’ rights.

Getting a licence

  1. Fill in our online licence request form . For your first request, you must create an OPO (work by work) producer account (free). You must fill in the list of works you wish to reproduce.
    As soon as you have registered your licence request and validated the general conditions, you will receive a request number.
  2. SDRM checks that the works belong to the repertoires it represents and will send you an estimate for the licence to your online account with the amount of royalties you will have to pay.
  3. Pay royalties to SDRM:
    • by credit card from your online OPO producer account ;
    • by bank transfer, using SDRM IBAN available on the online help ;
    • by cheque, payable to SDRM, to be sent by post to: SDRM (OPO) 225, avenue Charles de Gaulle 92528 Neuilly-sur-Seine cedex ; specifying the licence request number(s) on the back of the cheque ;
      NOTE : If you pay by cheque, your request will only be processed three weeks after it has been paid in.

Consult the instructions to fill in your licence request in the key documents.
